We decided to spend a one night get-away from the city at this B and B.

What makes this B and B, unlike any we have stayed before, is that this home as well as others on the property are built in an eco friendly manor.

This was an outdoor shower/tub that you could relax in while gazeing at the stars - if you prefered to bathe outside vs in your in room bathroom.
How much do you love the old clawfoot tub!

We woke up to the sound of chirping birds...

...and the croaking of bull frogs.

The farm had 9 chickens, no roosters (thank goodness, for the P and Q) that lay the eggs that were served for breakfast at the Inn.

The people who live on this land don't use cars if they do not have to, the garages are set a few kilometers away from the houses, and we saw people using "granny carts" (a familiar site in the city) to transport things to and from their car to their home, such as groceries. There were also community gardens on site. The roads that run through this land are windy and follow the way the animals use to graze to pasture.

Another eco friendly feature was the sod roof tops on the houses on the propertes. We truely enjoyed our stay at the B and B, and enjoyed the simple elegance of nature and nuture.
The next morning we woke up and decided to take advantage of the beautiful 80 degree weather, and head to the Indiana National Park. A hidden gem for sure.

Crisp blue water with pretty sail boats...

and sand dunes to hike.

On our way back to Illinois we stopped at the local farmers market, and bought a couple of bunches of asparagus to enjoy at our BBQ on Monday.

Happy Memorial Day - everyone!
