Above a pic of the B and B we stayed at in Florence.
We were taken care of by the inn keeper Riccardo. He was very friendly and spoke very good English, he lived in London for 12 years before moving back to Florence, where he was originally from. Florence is a city where you can walk the entire city in one day, so no need to hop on or off of bus or train. This was a nice change from Paris.
Our first stop, a cafe for espresso and cappuccino.
Here is the famous, David by Michelangelo. We cannot take credit for this photo though... the signs in the museum told us it was forbidden to take photos of this statue, but when we talked to Riccardo he told us the only thing that was forbidden was, "hurting someone", and happily shared a photo he had taken. This statue is "grandioso", you can see the people at the bottom of the photo to get a better idea.
The view from Ponte Vecchio...
Medusa in front of the Uffizzi museum.
In Florence there are very few cars, most people drive motoscooters, or bicycles with baskets. They put their bags/purses in the baskets in the front and back of the bike.
And lastly, a local enjoying his pipe while sipping a cappuchino. We have really enjoyed seeing/experiencing the local laid back culture.
