Day 4- Plaza del Mercado and a Visit to the Rainforest

A friendly bellboy (James) suggested we start out day out at the market to check out some local produce.

A view from the inside.

Papaya 'smoothie' (FRESH Payaya 99%, water .5%, cocoa 5% , ice)=Phenomenal!!!!

and of couse something fried empenadas one Pollo (chicken) and one queso (cheese)...

Due to the rain in San Juan so we decided to rent a car and make the trip to visit the El Yunque rainforest. We were so glad that we did. What beautiful place. ZEN.

We made the hike so we could see this beauiful waterfall.

There are not many colors in the rainforest other than green, so we took this snapshot of this pretty red flower. There were green parrots in the forest but we didn't spot any as they blend in much too well, we did hear one however...along with many tree frogs.

If you look from the top of the pic to the bottom you can see the Ocean, Mountain and then rainforest. Beautiful!

A view from one of the look outs onto the rainforest... Lush green everywhere.

I've always been a huge fan all the geographic contrasts that you can find in Central and South America... Amazing!!! Thanx for sharing!!! :)
